This was inspired by my teacher Rose Edin, who re-introduced me to art at the tender age of 71. Her workshop in Venice, Florida, changed my life. I paint for the love of creating and the joy of splashing in watercolor. That is all I need. Sunflowers are my go-to subject when I need to get back to painting after time away. Rose taught me that a strong drawing makes for a strong painting, and planning these flowers out in pencil was the ticket to getting them right.
