Using only a few colors, this painting gives the impression of tranquility. The water is still, and though no movements can be detected, we know that the Heron is waiting for a chance to spear his dinner, so a bit of suspense lurks in this painting. I love working with these colors, as they are almost neutral, giving a dreamlike quality to the painting.
